Ed toasts because along with the magic of the venue but what makes the it a beautiful place is the people that fill the building with energy and beauty. In Hawaii they call the rain a blessing so we are counting our blessings tonight. ‘it rains in heaven.’)

(Ed comes on stage with a Chelios jersey. Ed says one of the guys he loves is Jack White. He loves that fucking guy. He talks about Jack getting to go behind the scoreboard. Ed says the band isn’t going to tour anymore from April to October because he has been offered a job of changing the scoreboard. It is a dream job for him.)

Speaking of friends one of my best is here tonight. Back with the Black Hawks, defenseman extraordinaire Chris Chelios. Chris holds a jersey for Stan Mikita. Ed wants to play the song for his wife and have the audience hold up their phone lights. The baseball world championship trophy is on stage behind Ed as well)

(Ed says he knows he can drink out of the Stanley Cup but he is going to figure a way to ‘drink out of that thing’ referring to the trophy. He lists many of the Cubs players and staff who do various charity work)

(Since there is a curfew. {there is an 11 o’clock curfew for Wrigley but the band got permission to play until midnight if the weather was bad but no later} Ed asks the band to stay onstage so they can play more songs. The band discusses what to play. Ed puts on a Theo Epstein shirt. They take a request to play Smile)

Concert particulier car à 2 doigts d'être annulé. Perso c''est vraiment pas agréable à vivre comme stress.
Depuis plusieurs jours il était annoncé qu'il y aurait des orages ce lundi 20 aout sur chicago et particulièrement en soirée (en gros le créneau du concert). Le ciel est couvert et le vent souffle pendant la journée mais vers 16h y a quand même du mieux et des éclaircis et en gros les épisodes orageux et pluvieux annoncés n'ont pas eu lieu (juste pluie brève). A 19h30 une annonce dans le stade sur les écrans signale que le concert est retardé à cause de la météo là je me dis "merde"... Sentiment renforcé quand une annonce sonore demande à al fosse et aux premiers rangs (cate 100) d'être evacué et rejoindre les tribunes. Arrive les premiers éclairs et là je me dis "c'est mort, dégouté". la pluie et l'orage s'abatte sur le stade pendant plus d'une heure et quart, on a pas de news mais on redoute tous l'annulation. Cependant on aperçoit que le jeu de lumière continue toujours a être testé pour la scène.

A 20h45Au coeur de l'orage, la voix du speaker retenti il baraguine un truc en anglais quasi inaudible mais que je redoute comme l'officialisation du report ou annulation du concert. Mais au contraire il annonce qu'ils ont contactés les centres météos et l'aéroport et que visiblement les prévisions sont meilleures que prévues et que le show va pouvoir avoir lieu mais qu'il faut patienter. Au vue de la clameur de la foule je sais que ça sent bon (j'ose pas imaginé la boucherie en cas d'annulation). L'orage et les éclairs cessent vers 21h10. Le public est autorisé a retourné en fosse (certains ont du bien se faire enfler si ils étaient venus très tôt initialement) et en tribune basse. 21h30 le show commence.

Quelques petits passage de pluie pendant le concert mais assez court et rien de méchant. C'était marrant de voir quasi tout le monde en poncho (oui le t'en club et le site des cubs avaient recommandés de ramener les affaires de pluie) mais le stress généré pendant l'attente a quand même mis pas mal de temps à se dissiper (avec mon vol le lendemain en cas de report je l'avait dans l'os).

Show un peu spécial au vu du contexte mais quand même evil little gout fallait aller la chercher celle là!

Vu les setlist et l'énergie que le groupe y a mis, c'était clairement des concerts à faire. Bien joué !
