Ed covered Springsteen's Bobby Jean tonight, that was the highlight for me. Also broken out tonight: Untitled, Millworker, Won't Back Down, Gone, Don't be Shy. Great follow-up to night 1, I give night 2 the slight edge based upon Bobby Jean and Untitled. Bobby Jean gave a tear to my eye. Untitled was awesome. That new song The End was great. Gone was a surprise and grand. He talked a lot less and didn't tell any stories. I felt like it should have been a bit longer because it was the last show on the mainland. I was expecting a song after Hard Sun- but it was an amazing night. I was walking after with that weak in the knees feeling of such a good show. (like I did last night too.) That didn't happen to me in Memphis for some reason because I guess I wasn't fully warmed up yet. A lot of songs I had never heard before (like Bobby Jean, The End and many more).

There were no relayers beacuse the ushers were absoulte NAZIS about cell phones. They were warning people for texting or even having their cell phones out at all.

He sets the tone early since it's the last mainland show: "I think we should all just let it all f *king hang out"

In response to a fan yelling that they love him: "Have we met before, though? Or is this like first date syndrome? You love me now but..." He smiles, there's laughter.

In response to somebody yelling something that was inaudible from the stage: "I've been on the road for 18 years. I can't hear sh*t." Then he goes into talking about how loud it gets standing in front of Jeff Ament's bass amp.

In response to a heckler: "I barely heard what you said, but f * you. I came here in a good mood and you're not gonna ruin it."

In response to the ENDLESS song requests: "I don't go into f *ing Kinkos and tell you how to do YOUR job" <laughter and cheers>

He compliments the upper level for being heckler-free: "I don't hear anything rude and offensive coming from up in the 3rd balcony"

He also improved the lyrics to Untitled (as in the Untitled/MFC combo):
"Got a car. Got some gas. It's so f *king hot down here. Let's get out of the South fast!"

Then there's the whole cursing apology. It was just too long to capture. But here's the gist...
He dedicated a song to a 10 yr old, Brandon. Don't remember which song, but he messed up a little. Then afterwards he said "I think one of the many reasons I f *ked that up slightly, you know that first..." .He stops and realized that he's saying the f * word, when he just dedicated the song to a little boy. Then he did a big apology that started with: "i just feel bad about cussing in front of a 10yr old". But then in the apology he said f *k again. So then he just went with it, saying f *k about 30 times in the course of just a few sentences "....I know I look pretty cool sitting up here saying f *k, but f *k that. Don't start saying f *k. If u start saying f *k then I'll be pretty f *king mad at you. And your dad will be f *king mad at me. So f * that."

Bon je vais pas vous la refaire en entier pour le show du 24, mais voilà un petit résumé.

Me suis pointé à l'ouverture des portes pour choper des goodies car la veille il y avait 500 mètres de queue (C'est bon Oli j'ai fait tes courses ). Bien vu car la moitié était épuisé avant le début du show d'Ed.
La babysitter était en retard donc on a raté Liam Finn (spice di counasse).

Super surprise de voir Ed changer près de la moitié des chansons par rapport au set de la veille.

Pour les "nouveautés", Don't Be Shy de Cat Stevens, Girl From the North Country, un Betterman accoustique bandant, Untitled que je n'attendais mais alors vraiment pas, Gone qui est bien moins pompeux en acoustique que sur album (bon après les paroles...), Millworker I Won't Back Down, Bobby Jean, 'Till the Rivers All Run Dry que je ne connaissais absolument pas et The End chansons bien trippante, très sombre qui me fait penser au début de Dead Man niveau chant (je l'avais jamais écoutée avant alors un peu d'indulgence si je raconte une énorme connerie... ).

Ed était royallement pêté ce soir-là, bien que sa voix était nickel comme la veille. Il s'est d'ailleurs pris une gamelle phénoménale en voulant sauter par dessus son canapé "pieds". Digne de sa gamelle du Immagine In Cornice.

Pleins de "I looooove you Ed" qui l'ont foutu dans une rogne pas possible.

Et des abrutis qui disaient "Play The End", qui l'ont bien saoûlé également.

Voilà, pendant 15 ans j'ai secretement rêvé de voir Pearl Jam faire un set accoustique au Montreux Jazz Festival. Bein Ed était seul et j'ai dû me bouger à Atlanta, mais c'était vraiment deux nuits inoubliables.
