Ed chante lors de Release "Anthony, can you see this now?" probablement une pensée à Anthony Hurley, le fan australien décédé il y a 3 ans à Roskilde. Do The Evolution comporte quelques paroles différentes (à cause de plusieurs pertes de mémoire) : "I crawled the earth, and now I'm high. Ah something something and I sometimes forget this, what the hell ..." et à la fin: "I am an American, baby!" |
Release Musique: Vedder, Ament, Gossard, McCready, Krusen Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1992 Oh... oh... oh... I see the world. Feel the chill. Which way to go? Windowsill. Breakerfall Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Binaural Date: 15 mai 2000 There's a girl on a ledge who's got nowhere to turn. Cause all the love that she had was just wood that she burned. Now her life is on fire it's no ones concern. She can blame the world or prey till dawn. But only love can break her fall. Break her fall. Yeah, only love can break her fall. Fall. It's like she lost her invitation to the party on earth and she's standing outside hating everyone here. Yeah, she's her own disease, crying to her doll. But only love can break her fall. Break her fall. Only love can break her fall. Yeah. Yeah fall. Blame the world. Break her fall. Break her fall. Love, love, love can break her fall. Who? Now only love can break her fall. Love, love can break her fall. Fall. Love, love can break her fall. Only love can break her. |

Hail Hail Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready Paroles: Vedder Album: No Code Date: 27 août 1996 Ah, is there room for both of us? Both of us apart? Are we bound out of obligation? Is that all we've got? I get the words and then I get to thinking. I don't want to think, I want to feel. And how do I feel? And how do I... If you're the only one will I never be enough? Yeah. Hail hail the lucky ones. I refer to those in love. Yeah. Oh, how I'll love you til the day I die and beyond. Are we going to the same place? If so can I come? It's egg rolling thick and heavy. All the past you carry. Oh, I could be new. You underestimate me. If you're the only one will I never be enough? Yeah. Hail hail the lucky ones. I refer to those in love. Yeah. I sometimes realize I could only be as good as you'll let me. Are you woman enough to be my man? Bandaged hand in hand. I find it on the run in a race that can't be won. Yeah. All hail the lucky ones. I refer to those in love. Yeah. If you're my only one, so could you only one? I want to be your one. Enough! You won no one. You're one. |

Cropduster Musique: Cameron Paroles: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 Light green to green, dark green, brown. Every life is falling down. Brown to black, it's coming back. Dies to be part of the ground. Seed to seedling, root to stem. Eyes, no eyes, there's no difference. Every life is looking in. Swallowing seeds on the deathbed. Dig a hole in the garden. Everyone is practicing. But this world's an accident. I was the fool because I thought. I thought the world. Turns out the world thought me. It's all the other way round. We're upside down. Daddy's gone up flames. But this ain't no movie. This ain't no book you can close. When the big lie hits your eye. Everybody's practicing. Our world's an accident. I was the fool because I thought. I thought the world. Turns out the world thought me. It's all the other way round. We're upside down. Let the fluence sat it down. (x2) There's an upside of down. The moon is rolling round the world. Dissident Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vs Date: 19 octobre 1993 She nursed him there, ooh, over a night. I wasn't so sure she wanted him to stay. What to say? What to say? But soon she was down. Soon he was low. At a quarter past. A holy no. She had to turn around. When she couldn't hold, oh, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissidence. A dissident is here. And to this day she's glided on. Always home but so far away. Like a word misplaced. Nothing said, what a waste. But when she had contact with the conflict. There was meaning but she sold him to the state. She had to turn around. When she couldn't hold she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissidence. A dissident is here. Oh. Oh... Oh... She gave him away when she couldn't hold. No, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest path. Oh, a dissident, a dissident is here. Oh, couldn't hold on. She couldn't hold. No, she folded. A dissident is here. Escape is never the safest place. Oh, A dissident is here. |

In My Tree Musique: Gossard, Irons Paroles: Vedder Album: No Code Date: 27 août 1996 Up here in my tree. Yeah. Newspapers matter not to me. Yeah. No, no more crowbars to my head. Yeah. I'm trading stories with the leaves instead. Yeah. I wave to all my friends. Yeah. They don't seem to notice me. No. Ah, their eyes strait on the street. Yo! Oh... Sidewalks cigarettes and seams. Yeah. Yeah... Up here so high I start to shake. Up here so high the sky I scrape. I'm so high I hold just one breath deep within my chest just like innocence. (Eddie's down in his home) (Oh, the blue sky it's his home) (Eddie's blue sky home) (Oh, the blue sky it's his home) I remember when, yeah, I swore I knew everything. Oh, yeah. They say knowledge is a tree. Yeah. It's growing up just like me. Yeah. I'm so light the wind me shakes. I'm so high the sky I scrape. Yea, I'm so high I hold just one breath, to go back to my nest, to sleep with innocence. Up here so high the boughs they break. Up here so high the sky I scrape. And my eyes feel both wide open. And I got a glimpse of my inner sense. Got back my innocence. Still got it. Still got it. |

Given To Fly Musique: McCready Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 He could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out. A bad time nothing could save him. Alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out. He got up outta there ran for hundreds of miles. He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree. The wind rose up set him down on his knee. A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw. Deliver him wings, "Hey look at me now!" Arms wide open with the sea as his floor oh, oh, oh... He's flying, whole! High! wide! oh... He floated back down cause he wanted to share. This key to the locks, on the chains, he saw everywhere. But first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed by faceless men. Well fuckers, he still stands. And he still gets his love he just gives it away. The love he receives is the love that is saved. And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky. A human being that was given to fly... Flying! whole... High! flying! whole... He's flying! woah... High... woah... oh... |

Insignificance Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Binaural Date: 16 mai 2000 All in all it's no one's fault. Excuses turn to carbon walls. Blame it all on chemical intercourse. The swallowed seeds of arrogance breeding in the thoughts of ten-thousand fools that fight irrelevance. The full moon is dead skin. The one down here's wearing thin. So set up the ten pins as the human tide rolls in. Like a ball that's spinning. Bombs dropping down overhead. On the ground. It's instilled to want to live. Bombs dropping down. Please forgive our hometown in our insignificance. "Turn the jukebox up," he said. Dancing in irreverence. Play C-3. Let the song protest. The plates began to shift. Perfect lefts come rolling in. I was alone and far away, hey. When I heard the band start playing. On the lip they take off. Bombs dropping down overhead. Underground. It's instilled to want to live. Bombs dropping down. Please forgive our hometown in our insignificance. |

Get Right Ecrit par: Cameron Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 I want for to lay down. I'm waiting till sundown. I'm searching the haystacks. Water is sunshine. Wait for the moment. The moment between us. The fire is made now. Harder to touch. I wanted to get right. (x3) With it. With you. Bakers dozen parades. Stand and debate. Out single file. Nine in a row. Swear if you must. Keeping your boots on. Float with the now. Hot to the touch. Concrete underground. Cast out everyday. Dregs of society. Underbelly, inside of me. Rejoice and follow thee. I wanted to get right. (x3) With it. With you. I wanted to get right. |

I Believe in Miracles Ecrit par: Ramones I used to be on an endless run. Believe in miracles 'cause I'm one. I have been blessed with the power to survive. After all these years I'm still alive. I'm out here kickin' with the band. I am no longer a solitary man. Every day my time runs out. Lived like a fool, that's what I was about, oh I believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. Oh, I believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. Tattooed your name on my arm. I always said my girl's a good luck charm. If she can find a reason to forgive, Then I can find a reason to live. I used to be on an endless run. Believe in miracles 'cause I'm one. I have been blessed with the power to survive. After all these years I'm still alive. I believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. Oh, I believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. I close my eyes and think how it might be. The future's here today. It's not too late. It's not too late, yeah! believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. Oh, I believe in miracles. I believe in a better world for me and you. |

I Got Shit Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Merkinball Date: 5 décembre 1995 My lips are shaking my nails are bit off. Been a month since I've heard myself talk. All the advantage this life's got on me. Picture a cup in the middle of the sea.. And I fight back in my mind. Never lets me right out. I got memories. I got shit so much it don't show. Oh, I walked the lie when you held me in that night. I walked the line when you held my hand that night. On empty shell seem so easy to crack. Got all these questions. Don't know who I could even ask. So I'll just lie alone and wait for the dream where I'm not ugly and your looking at me. And I stay in bed. Oh, in a little while I'll see you. If just once I could feel love, oh, stare back at me. Yeah. But I walked the lie when you held me in that night. Oh, I walked the lie when you held my hand that night. Oh, I walked the lie when you held me close that night. I paid the price. Never held you in real life. My lips are shaking... |

Lukin Ecrit par: Vedder Album: No Code Date: 27 août 1996 Drive down the street can't find the keys to my own fucking home. I'll take a walk so I could curse my ass for being dumb. I'll make a right, after the arches, stinking grease and bone. Stopped at the supermarket people stare like I'm a dog. I'm going to Lukin's. I've got a spot at Lukin's. I knocked the door at Lukin's. Open the fridge. Now I know life is worth. I found the key but I return to find an open door. Some fucking freak who claims I fathered, by rape, her own son. I find my wife, I call the cops, this days work's never done. The last I heard that freak was purchasing a fucking gun.. |

Corduroy Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 The waiting drove me mad. You're finally here and I'm a mess. I take your entrance back. Can't let you roam inside my head. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your bread. I would rather run but I can't walk. Guess I lie alone just like before. I'll take the firmest path. Oh, and I must refuse your test. A-push me and I will resist. This behavior's not unique. I don't want to hear from those who know. They can buy but can't put on my clothes. I don't want to wait for them to walk. Never would have known of me before. I don't want to be held in your debt. I'll pay it off in blood let I be wed. I'm already cut up and half dead. I'll end up alone like I began. Everything has chains. Absolutely nothing's changed. "Take my hand, not my picture." Spelled my T-shirt. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your breast. All the things that others want for me. Can't buy what I want because it's free. Can't be what you want because I... Why ain't it susposed to be just fun? To live and die let it be done. I figure I'll be damned. All alone like I began. It's your move now. I thought you were a friend but I guess, I... I guess I hate you. |

Even Flow Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Freezing. Rests his head on a pillow made of concrete. Again. Oh, Feeling maybe he'll see a little better set a days. Ooh yeah. Oh, hand out faces that he sees time again ain't that familiar. Ooh yeah. Oh, dark grin. He can't help when his happy looks insane. Ooh. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away-yeah. Ooh. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Life again. Life again. Kneeling. Looking through the paper though he doesn't know to read. Ooh yeah. Oh, praying now to something that has never showed him anything. Oh, feeling understands the weather of the winters on its way. Oh, ceilings few and far between all the legal halls of shame. Yeah. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Ah Yeah. Fuck your money. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. A-someday yet he'll begin his life again. Yeah. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Uh huh yeah. Yeah yeah, momma mommy |

Bu$hleaguer Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder, Gossard Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 How does he do it? How do they do it? Uncanny and immutable. This is such a happening tailpipe of a party. Like sugar, the guests are so refined. A confidence man but why so beleagued? He's not a leader he's a Texas leaguer. Swinging for the fence. Got lucky with a strike. Drilling for fear makes the job simple. Born on third. Thinks he got a triple. Blackout weaves its way through the cities. Blackout weaves its way through the cities. Blackout weaves its way. I remember when you sang that song about today. Now it's tomorrow and everything has changed. A think tank of aloof multiplication. A nicotine wish and a columbus decanter. Retrenchment and hoggishness. The aristocrat choir sings, "What's the ruckus?" The haves have not a clue. The immenseness of suffering. And the odd negotiation. A rarity. With onionskin plausibility of life. And a keyboard reaffirmation. Blackout weaves its way through the cities. Blackout weaves its way through the cities. Blackout weaves its way. I remember when you sang that song about today. Now it's tomorrow and everything has changed. |

Fortunate Son Ecrit par: Creedence Clearwater Revival Some folks are born made to wave the flag, Ooh, they're red, white and blue. And when the band plays "Hail to the chief", Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no, Some folks are born silver spoon in hand, Lord, don't they help themselves, oh. But when the taxman comes to the door, Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no. Some folks inherit star spangled eyes, Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord, And when you ask them, "How much should we give?" Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one. It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no, |

Do The Evolution (Why Can't I Touch It?) Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 I'm ahead, I'm a man I'm the first mammal to wear pants. I crawled the earth, and now I'm high. Ah something something and I sometimes forget this, what the hell It's evolution baby. I'm a piece of the man. I buy stocks on the day of the crash. On the loose. I'm a truck. All the rolling hills I'll flatten 'em out. It's herd behavior. Uh huh. It's evolution baby Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, he's my clone. This land is mine, this land is free, I'll do what I want, yet irresponsibly. It's evolution baby. I'm a thief. I'm a liar. There's my church I sing in the choir. Hall-le-lu-jah. Admire me, admire my home, admire my song, admire my clothes. Consider, appetite for nightly feasts. Those ignorant Indians got nothing on me. Nothing. Why? Because, I am an American, baby! I am ahead, I am advanced, I am the first mammal to piss in my Levi's. I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher. 2010 watch it go to fire. It's evolution baby. I do the evolution. So why can’t touch it? (x5) |

Betterman Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 Waiting, watching the clock. It's four o'clock. It's got to stop. Tell him. Take no more. She practices her speech as he opens the door, she rolls over. Pretends to sleep as he looks her over. She lies and says she's in love with him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. Can't find a better man. Talking to herself, "There's no one else who needs to know," she tells herself. Memories back when she was smooth and strong and waiting for the world to come along. Swears she knew him now she swears he's gone. She lies and says she's in love with him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. She lies and says she still loves him. Can't find a better man. She dreams in color, she dreams in red. Can't find a better man. Can't find a better man. She loved him, yeah. She don't want to leave this way. She feeds him, yeah. That's why she'll be back again. Can't find a better man. |

Crazy Mary Ecrit par: Victoria Williams She lived on the curve in the road in an old tar paper shack. On the south side of the town on the wrong side of the tracks. Sometimes on the way into town we'd say, "Mama can we stop and give her a ride?" Sometimes we did but her hands flew from her side. Wild eyed crazy Mary. Down a long dirt road past the Parson's place. That old blue car we used to race. Little country store with a sign tacked to the side. Said 'NO LOITERING ALLOWED.' Underneath that sign always congregated quite a crowd. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Drink it... Pass it around. Pass it a... A-take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. One night thunder cracked. Mercy backed outside her windowsill. Dreamed I was flying high above the trees over the hills. Looked down into the house of Mary. Terrible thoughts. Newspaper covered walls. And Mary rising up above it all. Oh... Oh... Oh... Next morning on the way into town saw some skid marks and followed them around. Over the curve, through the fields, into the house of Mary. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it around. Pass it a... Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. Oh, pass it a... Pass it arround. Pass it a... Pass it a... Pass it a... Oh yeah. |

Spin The Black Circle Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 See this needle. A-see my hand. Drop, drop, dropping it down oh so gently. Well here it comes. I touch the plane. Turn me up, won't turn you away. Spin the black circle. Pull it out. A-paper sleeve. Oh my joy. Only you deserve conceit. I'm so big. A-my whole world. I'd rather you, rather you than her. Spin the black circle. You're so warm. The ritual when I lay down your crooked arm. Spin the black circle. |

Rockin' In The Free World Ecrit par: Neil Young There are colors on the street Red, white and blue People shufflin' their feet People sleepin' in their shoes But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them So I try to forget it, any way I can. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world I see a woman in the night With a baby in her hand Under an old street light Near a garbage can Now she puts the kid away, and she's gone to get a hit She hates her life, and what she's done to it There's one more kid that will never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world We got a thousand points of light For the homeless man We got a kinder, gentler, Machine gun hand We got department stores and toilet paper Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world |
