Eddie salue la foule après Given To Fly et dit qu’une
grande figure publique est dans le même hôtel qu’eux
et que ce n’est pas une infraction à sa sécurité
de dire que c’est Dick Cheney. Il pense que c’est lui qui
écoute plein tube Highway to Hell d’AC/DC à plusieurs
reprises.
ho, let's go." Nouvelle version de I Am A Patriot, plus lente avec
tout le groupe. Durant 1/2 Full Eddie s’amuse avec un grand miroir
à dévier la lumières d’un projecteur en direction
du public en leur demandant : "quelqu’un veut sauver le monde
... toi? toi? toi?" et insiste sur une personne du public avec
un t-shirt "Bush for Sale".
World. Glorified G était sur la setlist mais n’a pas été
joué. |

Grievance Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Binaural Date: 16 mai 2000 Have a drink they're buying. Bottom of bottle of denial. Big eye, big eye watching me. Have to wonder what it sees. Sin. Progress laced with ramifications. Freedom's big punch. Oh. Pull the innocent from a crowd. Raise those sticks them bring them down. If they fail to obey. Ah, if they fail to obey. Yeah yeah. For every tool they lend us a loss of independence. I pledge my grievance to the flag. Cause you don't give blood then take it back again. Oh we're all deserving something more. Progress. Taste it. Invest it all. Champagne breakfast for everyone. Everyone. Break the innocent when they're proud. Raise those stakes then bring them down. If they fail to obey. Yeah, ha, if they fail to obey. Pledge your grievance to the flag. Cause, don't give blood then take it back again. Oh, we're all deserving something more. Have a, have a drink, drink. Have a, have a drink, drink. I want to breathe part of the scene. I want to taste everyone I see. I want to run when I'm up high. I want to run to the sea. I want life to be. I just want to be. I will feel alive as long as I am free. |

Corduroy Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 The waiting drove me mad. You're finally here and I'm a mess. I take your entrance back. Can't let you roam inside my head. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your bread. I would rather run but I can't walk. Guess I lie alone just like before. I'll take the firmest path. Oh, and I must refuse your test. A-push me and I will resist. This behavior's not unique. I don't want to hear from those who know. They can buy but can't put on my clothes. I don't want to wait for them to walk. Never would have known of me before. I don't want to be held in your debt. I'll pay it off in blood let I be wed. I'm already cut up and half dead. I'll end up alone like I began. Everything has chains. Absolutely nothing's changed. "Take my hand, not my picture." Spelled my T-shirt. I don't want to take what you can give. I would rather starve than eat your breast. All the things that others want for me. Can't buy what I want because it's free. Can't be what you want because I... Why ain't it susposed to be just fun? To live and die let it be done. I figure I'll be damned. All alone like I began. It's your move now. I thought you were a friend but I guess, I... I guess I hate you. |
||
Brain of J Musique: McCready Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 8 février 1998 Who's got the brain of JFK? What's it mean to us now? Pause, it sounds distrust. But I can tell you this is no lie. Yeah. The whole world will be different soon. The whole world will be relieved. You? You've been taught, whipped into shape, now they got you in line. Stand behind the stripes. That was the order so give up your mind. The whole world will be different soon. The whole world will be relieved. And by name, the name they gave me, the name I'm letting go. The whole world will be different soon. The whole world will be relieved. |

Cropduster Musique: Cameron Paroles: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 Light green to green, dark green, brown. Every life is falling down. Brown to black, it's coming back. Dies to be part of the ground. Seed to seedling, root to stem. Eyes, no eyes, there's no difference. Every life is looking in. Swallowing seeds on the deathbed. Dig a hole in the garden. Everyone is practicing. But this world's an accident. I was the fool because I thought. I thought the world. Turns out the world thought me. It's all the other way round. We're upside down. Daddy's gone up flames. But this ain't no movie. This ain't no book you can close. When the big lie hits your eye. Everybody's practicing. Our world's an accident. I was the fool because I thought. I thought the world. Turns out the world thought me. It's all the other way round. We're upside down. Let the fluence sat it down. (x2) There's an upside of down. The moon is rolling round the world. (x2) |

Given To Fly Musique: McCready Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 He could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out. A bad time nothing could save him. Alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out. He got up outta there ran for hundreds of miles. He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree. The wind rose up set him down on his knee. A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw. Deliver him wings, "Hey look at me now!" Arms wide open with the sea as his floor oh, oh, oh... He's flying, whole! High! wide! oh... He floated back down cause he wanted to share. This key to the locks, on the chains, he saw everywhere. But first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed by faceless men. Well fuckers, he still stands. And he still gets his love he just gives it away. The love he receives is the love that is saved. And sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky. A human being that was given to fly... Flying! whole... High! flying! whole... He's flying! woah... High... woah... oh... |

Nothing As It Seems Ecrit par: Ament Album: Binaural Date: 16 mai 2000 Don't feel like home. He's a little out. And all these words elope. It's nothing like your poem. Putting in. Inputting in. Don't feel like methadone. A scratching voice all alone it's nothing like your baritone. It's nothing as it seems. The little that he needs. It's home. The little that he sees. Is nothing he concedes. It's home. One uninvited chromosome. A blanket like the ozone. It's nothing as it seems. All that he needs. It's home. The little that he frees is nothing he believes. Saving up a sunny day. Something maybe two tone. Anything of his own. A chip off the corner stone. Who's kidding? Rainy day. A one way ticket headstone. Occupations overthrown. A whisper through a megaphone. It's nothing as it seems. The little that he needs. It's home. The little that he sees is nothing he concedes. It's home. And all that he frees. A little bittersweet. It's home. It's nothing as it seems. The little that you see it's home. |

Even Flow Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Freezing. Rests his head on a pillow made of concrete. Again. Oh, Feeling maybe he'll see a little better set a days. Ooh yeah. Oh, hand out faces that he sees time again ain't that familiar. Ooh yeah. Oh, dark grin. He can't help when his happy looks insane. Ooh. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away-yeah. Ooh. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Life again. Life again. Kneeling. Looking through the paper though he doesn't know to read. Ooh yeah. Oh, praying now to something that has never showed him anything. Oh, feeling understands the weather of the winters on its way. Oh, ceilings few and far between all the legal halls of shame. Yeah. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. Oh, someday yet he'll begin his life again. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Ah Yeah. Fuck your money. Even flow. Thoughts arrive like butterflies. Oh, he don't know so he chases them away. A-someday yet he'll begin his life again. Yeah. Oh, whispering hands gently lead him away. Him away. Him away. Yeah. Woo. Uh huh yeah. Yeah yeah, momma mommy |

I Am Mine Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 The selfish. They're all standing in line. Fathing and hoping to buy themselves time. He I figure as each breath goes by. I only own my mind. The north is to south what the clock is to time. There's east and there's west and there's everywhere lines. I know I was born and I know that I'll die. The in between is mine. I am mine. And the feeling it gets left behind. All the innocence lost at one time. Significant behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. We're safe tonight. The ocean is full cause everyone's crying. The full moon is looking for friends at high tide. The sorrow grows bigger when the sorrows denied. I only know my mind. I am mine. And the meaning it gets left behind. All the innocents lost at one time. Significant behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. We're safe tonight. What. And the feelings that get left behind. All the innocence broken with lies. Significance between the lines. We may need to hide. And the meaning that get left behind. All the innocence lost at one time. We're all different behind the eyes. There's no need to hide. |

Green Disease Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 It's a disease and they're all green. It emminates from their being. Agitation with occupation. And like weeds with big leaves. Stealing light from what's beneath. Where they have more. Still they take more. Course I know. Then I don't. There's a stoway with my throat. It's deceiving. I don't believe him. We can scream out our doors. Behind the wall a fat man snores. In his dreams he's choking on leaves. Well I guess there's nothing wrong with what you say. But don't sell me, "There can't be better ways." Tell the captain "This boat's not safe, and we're drowning." Turns up he's the one making waves. Waves. Waves. I said there's nothing wrong with what you say. Believe me just asking you to sway. No white or black just grey. Can you feel this world with your heart and not your brain? |

Wishlist Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 I wish I was a neutron bomb, for once I could go off. I wish I was a sacrifice, but somehow still lived on. I wish I was a sentimental ornament you hung on the Christmas tree. I wish I was the star that went on top. I wish I was the evidence, I wish I was the clouds. Or 50 million hands upraised and open toward the sky. I wish I was a sailor with someone who waited for me. I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me. I wish I was a messenger, and all the news was good. I wish I was the full moon shining off a Camaro's hood. I wish I was an alien at home behind the sun. I wish I was the souvenir you kept your house key on. I wish I was the pedal brake that you depended on. I wish I was the verb "to trust" and never let you down. I wish I was a radio song the one that you turned up. |

Lukin Ecrit par: Vedder Album: No Code Date: 27 août 1996 Drive down the street can't find the keys to my own fucking home. I'll take a walk so I could curse my ass for being dumb. I'll make a right, after the arches, stinking grease and bone. Stopped at the supermarket people stare like I'm a dog. I'm going to Lukin's. I've got a spot at Lukin's. I knocked the door at Lukin's. Open the fridge. Now I know life is worth. I found the key but I return to find an open door. Some fucking freak who claims I fathered, by rape, her own son. I find my wife, I call the cops, this days work's never done. The last I heard that freak was purchasing a fucking gun.. |
||
Insignificance Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Binaural Date: 16 mai 2000 All in all it's no one's fault. Excuses turn to carbon walls. Blame it all on chemical intercourse. The swallowed seeds of arrogance breeding in the thoughts of ten-thousand fools that fight irrelevance. The full moon is dead skin. The one down here's wearing thin. So set up the ten pins as the human tide rolls in. Like a ball that's spinning. Bombs dropping down overhead. On the ground. It's instilled to want to live. Bombs dropping down. Please forgive our hometown in our insignificance. "Turn the jukebox up," he said. Dancing in irreverence. Play C-3. Let the song protest. The plates began to shift. Perfect lefts come rolling in. I was alone and far away, hey. When I heard the band start playing. On the lip they take off. Bombs dropping down overhead. Underground. It's instilled to want to live. Bombs dropping down. Please forgive our hometown in our insignificance. |

I Am A Patriot Ecrit par: Steve Van Zandt And the rivers shall open for the righteous (2x) And the rivers shall open for the righteous, someday I went walking, with my brother And he wondered, oh, how I am Said what I believe with my soul Ain't what I see with my eyes And there's no turning back this time I am a patriot, and I love my country Because my country is all I know I wanna be with my family People who understand me I got no place else to go...I am a patriot... I went walking, with my girlfriend She looked so fine, I said baby what's on your mind She said I wanna run like the lions Released from their cages Released from the rages burning in my soul tonight...I am a patriot... And I ain't no communist, and I ain't no socialist And I ain't no capitalist, and I ain't no imperialist And I ain't no democrat, I sure ain't no republican either I only know one party, and that is freedom, I am, I am, I am I am a patriot, and I love my country Because my country is all I know And the rivers shall open for the righteous (2x) And the rivers shall open for the righteous, someday Someday, someday, someday… |

1/2 Full Musique: Ament Paroles: Vedder Album: Riot Act Date: 12 novembre 2002 Climbing on a mountain. Floating out on the sea. Far from lights of a city. The elements they speak to me. Whispering that life. Existed long before breed. Balancing the world. On its knee. Don't see some men as half empty. See them half full of shit. Thinking that we're all but slaves. There's ain't gonna be. No middle anymore. It's been said before. The haves be having more. Yet still bored. Won't someone save? Won't someone save, the world? |
||
Porch Ecrit par: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 What the fuck is this world running to? You didn't leave a message at least I coulda' learned your voice one last time. Daily minefield this could be my time by you. Would you hit me? Would you hit me? Ohh. Whoa oww. All the bills go by and initiatives are taken up. By the middle. There ain't gonna be any middle any more. And the cross I'm bearing home ain't indicative of my place. Left the porch. Left the porch. Oh. Hear my name. Take a good look. This could be the day. Hold my hand. Walk beside me. I just need to say. Uh huh. Uh huh yeah uh huh. Uh huh yeah uh huh. Oh, hear my name. Take a good look. This could be the day. Hold my hand. Lie beside me. I just need to say. I could not take a-just one day I know when I would not ever touch you, hold you, feel you in my arms. Never again. Yeah. (x12) |

Elderly Woman Behind the Counter Of A
Small Town Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vs Date: 19 octobre 1993 I seem to recognize your face. Haunting familiar, yet I can't seem to place it. Cannot find the candle of thought to light your name. Lifetimes are catching up with me. All these changes taking place. I wish I'd seen the place but no one's ever taken me. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away. I swear I recognize your breath. Memories, like fingerprints, are slowly raising. Me you wouldn't recall for I'm not my former. It's hard when your stuck upon the shelf. I changed by not changing at all. Small town predicts my fate. Perhaps that's what no one wants to see. I just want to scream, "Hello." My god its been so long. Never dreamed you'd return. But now here you are and here I am. Hearts and thoughts they fade...away... Hearts and thoughts they fade...away... Hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away... Hearts and thoughts they fade... |

Black Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Ten Date: 27 août 1991 Sheets of empty canvas. Untouched sheets of clay were laid spread out before me as her body once did. All five horizons revolved around her soul. As the earth to the sun. Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn. Ooh, and all I taught her was everything. Ooh, I know she gave me all that she wore. And now my bitter hands shade beneath the clouds of what was everything. All the pictures have all been washed in black. Tattooed every day. I take a walk outside. I'm surrounded by some kids at play. Oh, I can feel their laughter. Oh, so why do I sear? Ooh, and twisted thoughts that spin around my head. I'm spinning. Oh, I'm spinning. How quick the sun can drop away. And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything. All the pictures have all been washed in black. Tattooed everything. All the love gone bad turned my world to black. Tattooed all I see. All that I am. All I'll be. Yeah. Uh huh... Uh huh... Ooh. I know someday you'll have a beautiful life. I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky but why, why, why can't it be, oh, can't it be mine? Oh... Ohh yeah oh. Do do do do do do do |

Do The Evolution Musique: Gossard Paroles: Vedder Album: Yield Date: 3 février 1998 I'm ahead, I'm a man I'm the first mammal to wear pants. I am at peace with my lust. I can kill cause in god I trust. It's evolution baby. I'm a piece of the man. I buy stocks on the day of the crash. On the loose. I'm a truck. All the rolling hills I'll flatten 'em out. It's herd behavior. Uh huh. It's evolution baby Admire me, admire my home, admire my son, he's my clone. This land is mine, this land is free, I'll do what I want, yet irresponsibly. It's evolution baby. I'm a thief. I'm a liar. There's my church I sing in the choir. Hall-le-lu-jah. Admire me, admire my home, admire my song, admire my clothes. Consider, appetite for nightly feasts. Those ignorant Indians got nothing on me. Nothing. Why? Because, it's evolution baby. I am ahead, I am advanced, I am the first mammal to make plans. I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher. 2010 watch it go to fire. It's evolution baby. I do the evolution. |

Spin The Black Circle Musique: Vedder, Gossard, Ament, McCready, Abruzzese Paroles: Vedder Album: Vitalogy Date: 6 décembre 1994 See this needle. A-see my hand. Drop, drop, dropping it down oh so gently. Well here it comes. I touch the plane. Turn me up, won't turn you away. Spin the black circle. Pull it out. A-paper sleeve. Oh my joy. Only you deserve conceit. I'm so big. A-my whole world. I'd rather you, rather you than her. Spin the black circle. You're so warm. The ritual when I lay down your crooked arm. Spin the black circle. |

Crazy Mary Ecrit par: Victoria Williams She lived on the curve in the road in an old tar paper shack. On the south side of the town on the wrong side of the tracks. Sometimes on the way into town we'd say, "Mama can we stop and give her a ride?" Sometimes we did but her hands flew from her side. Wild eyed crazy Mary. Down a long dirt road past the Parson's place. That old blue car we used to race. Little country store with a sign tacked to the side. Said 'NO LOITERING ALLOWED.' Underneath that sign always congregated quite a crowd. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Drink it... Pass it around. Pass it a... A-take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. One night thunder cracked. Mercy backed outside her windowsill. Dreamed I was flying high above the trees over the hills. Looked down into the house of Mary. Terrible thoughts. Newspaper covered walls. And Mary rising up above it all. Oh... Oh... Oh... Next morning on the way into town saw some skid marks and followed them around. Over the curve, through the fields, into the house of Mary. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. That what you fear the most could meet you halfway. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it around. Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it around. Pass it a... Take a bottle drink it down. Pass it... Pass it a... Pass it around. Oh, pass it a... Pass it arround. Pass it a... Pass it a... Pass it a... Oh yeah. |

Fortunate Son Ecrit par: Creedence Clearwater Revival Some folks are born made to wave the flag, Ooh, they're red, white and blue. And when the band plays "Hail to the chief", Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no, Some folks are born silver spoon in hand, Lord, don't they help themselves, oh. But when the taxman comes to the door, Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no. Some folks inherit star spangled eyes, Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord, And when you ask them, "How much should we give?" Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son. It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one. It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no, It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no, |

Rockin' In The Free World Ecrit par: Neil Young There are colors on the street Red, white and blue People shufflin' their feet People sleepin' in their shoes But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead Don't feel like Satan, but I am to them So I try to forget it, any way I can. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world I see a woman in the night With a baby in her hand Under an old street light Near a garbage can Now she puts the kid away, and she's gone to get a hit She hates her life, and what she's done to it There's one more kid that will never go to school Never get to fall in love, never get to be cool. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world We got a thousand points of light For the homeless man We got a kinder, gentler, Machine gun hand We got department stores and toilet paper Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer Got a man of the people, says keep hope alive Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive. Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world Keep on rockin' in the free world |
